Records, 1774-1792.

Consists of a ledger kept from 1781 to 1788 and two volumes with store inventories for the years 1774, 1791, and 1792. A wide variety of products is documented, including coffee, tea, spices, beeswax, hinges, window glass, wine from Philadelphia, butter, tea kettles, nails, coat buttons, fire tongs and shovels, stockings, china sets, dyes, fabrics, silverware, and glassware. Inventories for 1791 and 1792 specifically mentioned craftsmen's tools; for example, shoemaker's knives and trowels for masons. Credits were given for making a quilt, weaving, and other activities. Accounts for building the store and a new hall are also present. References are made to a daybook.

The Moravians came to the United States in 1735 primarily to preach the gospel to the Indians. Although the Moravians had contacts with many Indian tribes, they did most of their work among the Delawares. They followed this tribe westward from Pennsylvania to Ohio, to Canada, to Indiana,and finally to Kansas.
